[THIRD DAY.]

Order read for resuming Adjourned Debate on Amendment [16th February] to Question [15th February], That an humble Address be presented to His Majesty, as followeth: — Most Gracious Sovereign, We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, in Parliament assembled, beg leave to offer our humble thanks to Your Majesty for the Gracious Speech which Your Majesty has addressed to both Houses of Parliament,"— [Mr. Davidson.]

Which Amendment was: At the end of the Question to add the words: But regret that, in view of the serious distress consequent upon unemployment and the lack of preparedness on the part of the Government to deal with the situation, there is no mention of legislation recognising the right of the genuine unemployed to work or adequate maintenance."—[Mr. Clynes.]
