asked the Minister of Transport whether a distinguished general is about to be appointed as a member of the Port of London Authority to represent the Ministry of Transport; and, if so, will he state the qualifications of the officer in question, the nature of his duties, the period for which he is to be appointed, and the salary which it is proposed to pay him?

No decision has yet been arrived at in regard to an appointment to fill the existing vacancy among my nominees on the Port of London Authority. There is no salary attached to the appointment as my representative.
