HC Deb 18 April 1921 vol 140 c1528
42. Lieut.-Colonel POWNALL

asked the Prime Minister whether it is intended to set up the Select Committee on National Expenditure; and, if so, when?

The PRIME MINISTER

I hope that the informal Committee which my right hon. Friend the Leader of the House has invited to assist him in considering the best form for an Estimates Committee to take will have completed its deliberations in a few days, and he will make an announcement to the House as soon as the Government have considered their recommendations.
