HC Deb 18 April 1921 vol 140 cc1513-4
35. Lieut.-Colonel Sir S. HOARE

asked the Prime Minister whether a treaty has been signed between the Italian Government and the Kemalist Government; if so, whether His Majesty's Government have any knowledge of its contents; and whether they have asked the Italian Government to publish it in accordance with the stipulations of the covenant of the League of Nations in connection with the publication of treaties?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Cecil Harmsworth)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative, and His Majesty's Government are in communication with the Italian Government on the subject. In reply to the third part, it is not incumbent on His Majesty's Government to address any such request to the Italian Government as is here suggested.
