HC Deb 18 April 1921 vol 140 c1508
81. Sir M. DOCKRELL

asked the Minister of Labour what is the present average output per industrial unit in the principal industries of this country; how does it contrast with our pre-War output; how does it contrast with the output to-day of America, France, Belgium, and Germany; and, if it be impossible to give an index figure for output, can he give the contrast in hours worked in the respective countries?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY OF LABOUR (Sir Montague Barlow)

The material needed for instituting the comparisons which my hon. Friend has in view is now being collected from the various Governments by the International Labour Office at Geneva, by whom, I understand, efforts are being made to ensure early publication of the results.
