HC Deb 13 April 1921 vol 140 cc1075-6
2. Mr. HAILWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been called to a letter published by the Indo-British Association relating to an incident at Shajungi where the people with religious solemnity vowed to boycott European goods; and whether he has any information as to the extent of this policy in India, and the probable effect it will have upon the trade of Lancashire?

The SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Mr. Montagu)

I have seen the letter referred to. I do not think the boycott suggested is receiving any substantial support, but I am inquiring.
