HC Deb 12 April 1921 vol 140 c905
26. Viscount CURZON

asked the Home Secretary whether all the police employed on traffic regulation in the Metropolitan Police area are as yet equipped with white gloves; and, if not, whether it is the intention of the Chief Commissioner to so equip them?

Mr. SHORTT

White gloves are at present issued to a limited number of men on traffic duty, as an experiment. The question of their general issue will depend on the result of the experiment.

Colonel ASHLEY

Are police employed in motor traps to wear white gloves?
