HC Deb 12 April 1921 vol 140 cc897-9
16. Captain Viscount CURZON

asked the Secretary of State for War what are the rates of pay, with all allowances, of a colonel, lieutenant-colonel, major, captain, lieutenant, second-lieutenant, married and single, respectively; and whether free passages or quarters are available for any of the above ranks

stantial increase in the number of these nominees over the number admitted by examination?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

I think my hon. and gallant Friend had better wait until he sees the figures. He will see that by far the largest proportion are admitted by examination, and the nominations are really very small in number.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is the right hon. Gentleman doing his best to see that these nominations are not confined only to a limited number of schools, and that the scheme is made as wide as possible and extended to all classes of schools in the country?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

I will consider that.

The following is the statement promised:

under certain conditions on proceeding to a foreign station?
