HC Deb 12 April 1921 vol 140 cc913-4
37. Sir J. BUTCHER

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware of the urgent necessity for the amendment of the Salmon and Fresh Water Fishery Acts, as promised in the King's Speech last year; and whether he can give an assurance that the amending Bill will be introduced shortly, and proceeded with as speedily as possible?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

I regret that I am not yet in a position to add anything to the answer given to the hon. and learned Baronet on the 24th March last.

Sir J. BUTCHER

Does the right hon. Gentleman realise that owing to the difficulty of paying the water rates by the people that some fisheries are suffering very severely?

Sir A. BOSCAWEN

Yes, Sir; I quite realise the urgency of the question, and I shall take every possible step to accelerate a decision.
