HC Deb 04 April 1921 vol 140 c19
29. Lieut.-Colonel POWNALL

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the inconvenience caused to travellers by France and England starting summer time at different dates, he will in future years approach the French authorities with a view to the two countries starting on the same day?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Shortt)

I have been asked to reply to this question. The matter has already been under consideration, and the French Government has approached us on the subject. The circumstances of the two countries are somewhat different, but the possibilities will be carefully examined in consultation with the French Government.
