asked the President of the Board of Trade, having regard to the statement made that as a result of the Government not carrying out in toto the Majority Report of the Sankey Commission the miners are not prepared to accept the offer of a tribunal, whether he will give an assurance that the award of such a tribunal would be equally binding on both parties and would be accepted and acted upon by the Government?

Full assurances were given by the Government to the Executive Committee of the Miners' Federation that any decision given as to wages by any such tribunal would be accepted and carried out by the Government, and I do not think there can be any real misapprehension on the subject.
