HC Deb 24 November 1920 vol 135 cc434-5
62. Sir J. BUTCHER

asked the Minister of Health whether, early in August last, he received a communication from the East Riding of Yorkshire county council requesting that any balance standing to the credit of the East Riding Insurance Committee for sanatorium benefit should be paid over to the county council, in view of the fact that the council have by agreement undertaken to provide treatment for all persons in the East Riding, whether insured or uninsured; what answer has been sent to the county council; and whether he will instruct the East Riding Insurance Committee to pay over this balance to the East Riding council without delay?

Dr. ADDISON

The reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I will send my hon. and learned Friend a copy of the answer which has been sent to the county council.

Sir J. BUTCHER

Can my right hon. Friend say whether he has in his answer instructed the insurance committee to pay over this balance?

Dr. ADDISON

It is not quite so simple as that. Perhaps my hon. and learned Friend will read my answer and then put another question.
