§ 54. Dr. McDONALDasked the Prime Minister if he has received any acknowledgment of his offer to discuss the Government's proposals with representatives who have authority to speak for the Irish people; and, if not, is he prepared to go further and put that offer into writing to the leaders of the Sinn Fein movement and other bodies in Ireland and, if a favourable reply is received, to summon such a conference with the least possible delay?
