HC Deb 17 November 1920 vol 134 cc1882-3
Lieut. - Commander ASTBURY

(by Private Notice) asked the Minister of Pensions whether a civilian with no war service has been appointed Secretary to the Manchester War Pensons Committee, though a most competent man with distinguished war service was available?

The MINISTER of PENSIONS (Mr.an Macpherson)

No new appointment has as yet been made to the post of Secretary to the Manchester Local War Pensions Committee, and none can be made without my approval. My hon. and gallant Friend may rest assured that, when the names of the selected candidates are submitted to me for final approval, it is not my intention to overlook the claims of those who have served in the Forces.
