HC Deb 11 November 1920 vol 134 cc1335-6
3. Mr. HURD

asked the Minister of Pensions whether his attention has been called to the statement of the Clerk to the Clutton Guardians to the effect that it was only after a correspondence ex- tending over 19 months, during which he, the Clerk, wrote, 40 letters respecting the case, that the Ministry of Pensions accepted liability for payment of the sum of £7 13s. Poor Law Relief granted to an ex-Guardsman whose pension was reduced and who was certified as being unable to work; and what steps are being taken to expedite matters of this kind in the future?

Mr. MACPHERSON

I have not yet been able to complete my inquiries into this case, but I will communicate with my hon. Friend as soon as possible.
