HC Deb 11 November 1920 vol 134 c1359
44. Sir H. BRITTAIN

asked the Prime Minister whether he can inform the House as to the amounts paid by Great Britain, Italy and France, respectively, towards the necessary expenses incurred by the machinery of the League of Nations?

The PRIME MINISTER

As regards the amount paid by Great Britain towards the necessary expenses incurred by the machinery of the League of Nations, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave him on the 8th instant. I am making enquiries of the Secretariat of the League as to the amounts subscribed by other Powers.

Sir H. BRITTAIN

In addition to the amount of subscription, are we in any way responsible for any overdraft?

The PRIME MINISTER

We are not going to let them run into debt.
