HC Deb 09 November 1920 vol 134 c988
36. Mr. LINDSAY

asked the Postmaster-General why the limited mail trains between Belfast and Dublin which convey the English mails have been discontinued; if he is aware that their ceasing to run is causing inconvenience; and whether he will have them reinstated at once?

Mr. PEASE

The trains in question were discontinued by the railway company for the purpose of saving coal. I am asking the Ministry of Transport to consider whether they can be restored.

Mr. LINDSAY

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that these trains were discontinued only after the strike had been settled?

Mr. PEASE

The matter has been taken out of the hands of the department I represent. It is really a question for the Ministry of Transport.

Mr. LINDSAY

I beg to give notice that I will put this question to the Minister of Transport on Monday.
