asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will state

Would it not be possible to guarantee a credit to these banks?

Mr. KELLAWAY

That would require full consideration.

Mr. SAMUEL

Will the right hon. Gentleman ask the London branches of the Australasian banks why they do not adopt this obvious remedy?

Mr. KELLAWAY

That is a matter for the Treasury. I will suggest it to the Treasury.

Mr. KILEY

Surely your Department ought to put forward the suggestion.
