§ 27. Mr. HUGH MORRISONasked the Prime Minister what steps the Government propose to take in view of the fact that the Agricultural Rates Act of 1896 expires on the 31st December; and whether, in view of the burden of the rates on agriculture, he will consider the advisability of adequately increasing the grant that was fixed by that Act?
§ The MINISTER of HEALTH (Dr. Addison)The period of operation of the Agricultural Rates Act is extended annually by the Expiring Laws Continuance Act, and the Act is included in the Expiring Laws Continuance Bill now before the House.
