§ 34. Mr. BLAIRasked the Minister of Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Poplar Board of Guardians are in some cases of applicants for outdoor relief paying rent; if he will say whether this action is taken with his sanction; and, if not, what steps he proposes taking to see that the Orders and Regulations of the Ministry of Health are complied with?
§ Dr. ADDISONA Poor Law Authority is not prohibited from taking into consideration the rent payable by an applicant for relief, and the reports which I have received up to the present do not support the suggestion that the Guardians are failing to comply with the Regulations in force.
