HC Deb 03 November 1920 vol 134 c376
54. Mr. WILLIAM GRAHAM

asked the Minister of Health whether his Department has in preparation a scheme dealing with the superannuation of the officers and servants of municipal authorities in Great Britain on the lines of the Report of the Departmental Committee; whether he is aware that on the part of numbers of municipal employés there is dissatisfaction with the recommendations of the Committee; and whether, before a Bill is introduced, he will consent to receive representations from organisations representative of the different grades of municipal employés.

Dr. ADDISON

A Bill on this matter is in course of preparation. I have already received observations upon the Report of the Departmental Committee from various associations of local authorities and employés, and I shall, of course, be quite willing to receive and consider representations which any organisations representative of municipal employés may desire to submit. But I think it right to point out that it will be very difficult to obtain legislative sanction for a general scheme of superannuation if every class of employés considers the scheme only from its own particular point of view.
