Mr. ATKEYasked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the delay in completing certain houses being erected in Nottingham under the Housing Act; whether he is aware that some houses have been ready for slating for two months; that the builder has a competent slater willing to do the work, but who cannot be employed because he is not a member of the slaters' society; that he is willing to join and pay all demands, but is refused on the ground that he was not bound as an apprentice to the trade; and whether, in view of the need for houses, and the fact that at least three pairs could now have been tenanted which remain uncompleted, he can take any steps to induce this trade union to adopt a more generous attitude?
