I to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether any of His Majesty's ships are now employed in the defence of Canadian fisheries; and, if so, whether the Canadian Government makes any 1385 payment for the services rendered by those ships.

The Canadian Government protect their own fisheries, and His Majesty's ships are not employed on this service.

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that quite recently a battleship was employed on this duty?
