HC Deb 23 March 1899 vol 69 cc281-3

On the Motion for the Adjournment of the House,

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

In moving the Adjournment of the House, it will be for the convenience of Members that I should state that we propose to suspend the Twelve o'Clock Rule to-morrow, not at all because I contemplate a late sitting, but because it may be convenient that for five or 10 or 15 minutes' discussion the House should not be restricted absolutely—be met by the dead wall of the Twelve o'Clock Rule, on the Second Reading of the Rill that we have been discussing.

Question put— That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, praying her graciously to withhold her consent to a scheme under the Endowed Schools Act, 1869, and amending Acts, for the management of Queen Mary's School, Walsall, which was presented to this House on the 7th day of February last."—(Mr. Gedge.)

MR. E. J. C. MORTON (Devonport)

I take it that I may assume that the right honourable Gentleman does not contemplate taking any other Government business to-morrow?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

There is the first Measure I announced—nothing afterwards.

MR. E. J. C. MORTON

Is the right honourable Gentleman able to say definitely what will be taken on Monday and Tuesday next?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

I did state that at Question time to-day. I may repeat it for the convenience of the honourable Gentle- man. The first Motion for Monday will be simply to send to Grand Committee the Food and Drugs Bill. The second matter is the Private Bill Procedure (Scotland) Bill. There will be some other Government Bills down, but that probably will take the whole evening. On Tuesday, the only Motion will be for Adjournment, which will be taken at Twelve o'clock.
