§ Mr. Morganasked the Secretary of State for Defence how much compensation, if any, so far has been paid to relatives of British Service personnel killed in the Corfu channel incident of 22 October 1946, by the Albanian Government pursuant to awards made by the International Court of Justice; and by how much such compensation falls short of totality of the court's awards.
§ Mr. PattieNone of the damages awarded to the United Kingdom by the International Court of Justice has yet been paid by the Albanian Government. The claim, however, has not been dropped. At the time of the incident, the then Ministry of Pensions accepted that the fatalities and injuries were attributable to service in the Royal Navy and awarded full war pensions to the disabled and to the widows of those who had died.
