§ Lord Davies of OldhamThere are several ways in which we regulate noise from motorcycles. These include noise limits for new motorcycles, plus 131WA requirements for maintenance and for silencer markings. In response to a request from the department's Advisory Group on Motorcycling we produced some guidance to help riders to comply with the regulations and to aid the police in enforcement.

Enforcement at a local level is a matter for the police. I understand that the North Yorkshire Moors National Park Authority is liaising with the police to address the problem in the area.
