HC Deb 09 July 2001 vol 371 c365W
Mr. McNamara

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what the international code is for identification of the country of origin on munitions, with particular reference to stun grenades. [1120]

Mr. Ingram

NATO uses the fifth and sixth digit of the NATO Stock Number (NSN) as an identifier of the country of origin (or manufacturer) of munitions. The NSN appears on the packaging of munitions and not necessarily on the munitions themselves.
