§ Lord Bassam of BrightonThe noble Lord's Question has been interpreted as referring to building projects undertaken by the Prison Service. No money was spent on projects valued at £50,000 or over without contractual backing in 1999–2000. Information on projects valued at less than £50,000 is not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
