§ Ms HewittBusiness Link partnerships—and their equivalents in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland—have a key role to play in making sure that small and medium-sized firms in the UK are equipped to meet the challenges resulting from the introduction of the euro in 11 European countries earlier this year. Business Links will bring their own experience and knowledge of local conditions to bear on this role, but are supported by the Euro Preparations Unit of the Treasury through training, publications, specialist guidance and advice.
