Mr. Flynn

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will make a statement concerning the lending practices of The Money Store, Kensington and other non-status lenders; [74194]

(2) if he will investigate the effect (a) Private Label, (b) The Mortgage Operation and (c) other mortgage packaging companies have on the customer's choice of product; [74195]

(3) if he will put forward legislation to ensure that the fees that non-status lenders and mortgage packaging companies pay to lenders are disclosed. [74196]

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what monitoring his Department is undertaking regarding compliance with the industry code of mortgage lending practice; what percentage of lenders and intermediaries now subscribe to the code; what future consultation is planned with the industry regarding the impact of the code; and if he will make a statement. All aspects of the mortgage market will be taken into account when considering whether mortgage advice should be regulated under the Financial Services and Markets Bill.
