HC Deb 27 July 1999 vol 336 cc210-1W
10. Mr. Alexander

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what discussions he has had with the Scottish Executive on revisions to the Assisted Areas Map in Scotland; and if he will make a statement. [91607]

Dr. Reid

Revision of the Assisted Areas Map across Britain is a reserved matter for the UK Government. I have been in close touch with The First Minister throughout the final stages of the Review. The proposals for new assisted areas announced on 15 July represent overall a fair outcome for Scotland.

17. Mr. Welsh

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has made to ministerial colleagues regarding the proposed boundaries of Assisted Areas in Scotland. [91614]

Dr. Reid

Scottish Office Ministers and officials were fully involved in discussions within Government on the Review of Assisted Areas.
