§ Ms ArmstrongThe Government's proposals for increasing tenant involvement in the management of local authority housing will be published in the consultation paper, "Tenant Participation Compacts" on 25 January 1999. The proposals link with the proposals contained in the consultation paper "Best Value in Housing Framework", which are being published today and on which I have made a separate announcement.
The consultation period will end on 31 March 1999 and a further announcement on the proposals will be made in May. I am arranging for copies of the consultation paper to be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
