To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the estimated extra revenue, including the added effects of VAT, from the road fuel duty escalator in the Budget statements for(a) 1993–94, (b) 1994–95, (c) 1996–97, (d) 1997–98 and (e) 1998–99; and what was the actual revenue accrued, including the added effects of VAT, in those years.
