Mr. Burstow

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, pursuant to his answer of 27 July 1998,Official Report, column 93, concerning his Department's guidance LAC (98), what evidence he has submitted to the Royal Commission on topping-up payments. [54128]

A factual note on topping-up has been prepared for the Royal Commission and copies are available in the Library.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he intends to issue his Department's forthcoming White Paper on the registration and inspection of residential care homes. [54038]

The Department's Social Services White Paper will be published when Parliament returns after the summer recess.
