What proposals they are making, as holders of the Presidency of the European Union, for interpretation of Article 9 of the Dublin Convention, which provides flexibility to take account of an asylum seeker's family ties in other member states when determining responsibility for examining an application. § The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Williams of Mostyn)As Presidency of the European Union, we are proposing a programme of action on the Dublin Convention. We expect this to include a commitment by member states to seek to agree a common approach on the application of Article 9 of the convention.
