§ Mr. PaiceThe author of the report, Professor Eraut, accepted the invitation of the National Council for Vocational Qualification to address its NVQ policy committee on 5 December to discuss his report. The council will take those findings into account when revising the requirements for NVQs. The research raised important questions about the difficulties of assessment in NVQs, particularly when it occurs away from the job, but it also showed that very few practitioners wanted to go back to the old patterns of training and assessment.
