§ Mr. Michael ForsythI received a copy of the report shortly after its publication in September. I am always pleased to have information on the operation of the student support system, although the sample in this case was not necessarily typical.
As part of our commitment to monitor student finance we have recently commissioned a new, United Kingdom-wide student income and expenditure survey. It will provide up-to-date, comprehensive, and authoritative evidence on the picture throughout the UK. The survey will be carried out in spring 1966 and the results published later in the year.
