HL Deb 21 July 1995 vol 566 cc64-5WA
Lord Harris of Greenwich

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Pursuant to the Written Answer by Viscount Goschen on the East London Line, (HL Deb. 10 July 1995, col. WA100) on what date London Underground applied for listed building consent to strengthen and waterproof the tunnel between Rotherhithe and Wapping and whether it is expected that a decision will be arrived at before the reassembly of Parliament after the summer Recess.

Viscount Goschen

London Underground applied to London Docklands Development Corporation (LDDC) on 28 March 1995 for listed building consent to undertake essential works on the tunnel between Rotherhithe and Wapping. LDDC have recommended that the Secretary of State for the Environment should approve their proposal to grant consent. I understand that the Secretary of State for the Environment hopes to announce his decision shortly.
