HC Deb 21 June 1994 vol 245 c104W
Mr. Channon

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will overrule the planning inspectorate and order an appeal held in public into the proposed development at Marine parade, Leigh-on-Sea, about which the right hon. Member for Southend, West has been in correspondence with him.

Mr. Baldry

No. I am satisfied that the planning merits of the proposal can be considered adequately on the basis of written representations and a site visit. The inspector will take the strength of local feeling about the proposals fully into account in reaching a decision.
