asked Her Majesty's Government:

How much money each year is to be received for what period of time by which European countries from the European Communities' cohesion funds.

The following amounts are to be allocated from the Cohesion Fund:

Indicative allocations of the fund to the member states eligible have been made based principally on population, per capita GDP and surface area. Other socio-economic factors such as deficiencies in transport infrastructure have also been taken into account.

The indicative allocations are as follows:

Greece 16 per cent, to 20 per cent, of the total.
Spain 52 per cent, to 58 per cent, of the total.
Ireland 7 per cent, to 10 per cent, of the total.
Portugal 16 per cent, to 20 per cent, of the total.
