§ Mr. DavidsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his answer of 14 April,Official Report, column 587, what plans he has to improve the structures and systems of accountability to elected local authorities by non-elected agencies and non-governmental organisations following his proposed reforms of the local government system in Scotland.
§ Mr. Stewart[holding answer 11 May 1993]: There are no plans to amend the present arrangements for ensuring the accountability of non-departmental public bodies in the context of the Government's proposals for local government reform in Scotland.
