HC Deb 05 May 1993 vol 224 c119W
Mr. Hanson

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the factors upon which he based his decision to classify Mold and its outlying districts as a non-rural area for the purposes of the provision of pharmaceutical services.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

Questions affecting the rurality of an area are governed by the National Health Service (Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations, 1992. In considering the issue the Secretary of State has regard to the overall density of population, including any developments or population changes which may be expected; sizes of community; distance between settlements and the spread and frequency of public transport, together with the range of local services available.
