Progress so far shows the regions and national health service trusts to be actively pursuing policies to promote women's participation in the national health service. Many of the points for action listed in the implementation guide are in operation; others are being actively considered. As a result there has been an increase in the profile and contribution of women, in all areas covered by the goals, in the service.
