HL Deb 15 February 1993 vol 542 cc61-2WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many roads in Northern Ireland crossing an international frontier have been closed under Section 25 of the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1991; and whether they will re-examine the need for such closures individually.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Northern Ireland Office (The Earl of Arran)

There are 291 recognised border crossing points, 103 of which are subject to closure order under Section 25 of the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1991. Border road closures are kept under constant review.
