HL Deb 15 February 1993 vol 542 c62WA
Lord Bonham-Carter

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many listed buildings, how many designated conservation areas and how many conservation staff there are in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Viscount Astor

There are 1,805 listed buildings in the borough and, according to information obtained by English Heritage, 44 conservation areas and two conservation staff.

English Heritage are currently in consultation with the boroughs over the arrangements which will be needed to maintain conservation standards in London whilst giving effect to their Forward Strategy.
