§ Mr. CurryI have made no proposals on reorganisation of the Potato Marketing Board. The EC proposals in their present form would require fundamental changes to the potato marketing scheme and the board's powers.The Agriculture Bill, currently in another place, contains enabling powers for the potato marketing scheme to be revoked, the Potato Marketing Board to be wound up and its assets transferred to a successor body or bodies. This flexibility does not exist in the European Communities Act 713W which would otherwise have to be used to wind up the scheme and the board if the current EC proposals were agreed.
