asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will take steps to see that existing laws prohibiting child labour are enforced in the interests of children's education.

Under Section 59 of the Education Act 1944 any local education authority which considers that a pupil is being employed in a manner which prevents the pupil from obtaining full benefit from his or her education may take action to prohibit or restrict that employment.
