§ Mr. RentonThe estimated costs to date (but not including the costs incurred in the court proceedings on Thursday, 19 January) incurred by Treasury Solicitor's Department and in fees for Counsel in representing Home Office interests before the courts in the case of Viraj Mendis are about £8,000 excluding VAT. Any costs incurred within the Home Office cannot be separately identified from those incurred on other cases.
