HL Deb 03 November 1988 vol 501 cc467-8WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many families, with at least one member in the UK, remain separated (to their knowledge) because the USSR has refused to allow other members to emigrate, and whether they will continue to make representations on their behalf.

Lord Glenarthur

For many years we have had a list of divided families, whose cases are of direct concern to the United Kingdom. We have taken every opportunity to press the Russians to allow the families involved to be re-united. All the cases on the list have now been resolved.
