HC Deb 01 March 1988 vol 128 cc542-3W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what cases of non-fulfilment of obligations under the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 by social service departments in Wales have been brought to his attention during each year since 1979.

Mr. Grist

Cases have been brought to my attention but the detail asked for could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what information he has on the increase in applications and references to local authorities in Wales for the provision of aids, adaptations and modifications in the homes of disabled people under the requirements of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Grist

Information about the numbers of applications and references to local authorities is not held centrally, but details of the provision of such services are published annually by the Welsh Office in "Activities of Social Services Departments".

Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what information he has regarding delays in the implementation of provision of services for disabled people by local authorities in Wales under the requirements of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Grist

Representations alleging delays are received from time to time and these are fully investigated by the Department.
